D’Tigers have announced their final roster for the Men’s AfroBasket Championship, which will take place in Angola from August 12 to August 24.
The Nigerian men’s team is seeking to secure their second continental title, nearly ten years after winning their first in 2015.
They have been placed in Group B alongside Tunisia, Madagascar, and Cameroon, and will begin their campaign against Madagascar on August 13.
Following rigorous training, Coach Mohammed Abdulrahman has cut Fola Fayemi, Kareem Joseph, and Mohamed AbdulSalam from the squad.
Additionally, Peter Olisemeka will not participate due to ineligibility.

Star guard Josh Okogie leads the team, accompanied by returning veterans Talib Zanna, Ike Nwamu, Stan Okoye, and Caleb Agada.
Emerging players Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu, Mike Nuga, Devine Eke, Christian Mekowulu, Martins Igbanu, Ugo Andrew Simon, and Emmanuel Omogbo have also received call-ups.
This year’s AfroBasket is the 31st edition since its inception in 1962, with Angola holding the record for the most titles at 11.
Tunisia is the defending champion after winning the last tournament. A total of sixteen nations will compete for the prestigious trophy.
D’Tigers aspire to emulate the success of D’Tigress, who are the current champions of women’s basketball in Africa.
