Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula triumphed over Daniil Medvedev and Mirra Andreeva in the quarter-finals, securing their spot in the semi-finals on Wednesday night in New York, where they will face Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud.
As the top seeds in the tournament, thanks to their fifth and fourth rankings on the ATP and WTA Tours, Draper and Pegula showcased a strong performance at Arthur Ashe Stadium, defeating former US Open champions Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 4-2, 4-2.
The duo quickly gained the upper hand by breaking Alcaraz’s serve in the very first game, with the remainder of the set proceeding with serves holding.
They then achieved a crucial second break of Alcaraz’s serve in the third game of the second set.
In his on-court interview after the match, Draper expressed his excitement: “What an experience it is to play with Jessica against Emma and Carlos.
“It doesn’t get any better than this, so it’s just a pleasure to be out here competing with such a great player.”
Jessica Pegula was not pleased with Draper’s comment referring to the US Open mixed doubles as an ‘exhibition’ format.

Despite their loss, Raducanu and Alcaraz, who had been playfully dubbed ‘Raducaraz’ before the match, maintained a positive attitude throughout the game, receiving significant support from the large crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Alcaraz had played just 24 hours earlier in the Cincinnati Open final against Jannik Sinner, who had to retire due to illness in the first set.
Consequently, Sinner withdrew from his scheduled mixed doubles match on Tuesday, where he was set to partner with 11-time Grand Slam doubles champion Katerina Siniakova.
Their spot in the draw was filled by American pair Danielle Collins and Christian Harrison, who seized the opportunity by winning their two matches and advancing to the semi-finals against defending mixed doubles champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.
