Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has stirred fresh political controversy after publicly backing former Abia State Governor and current senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, over his harsh assessment of Governor Alex Otti’s performance in office.
The debate follows recent remarks by Kalu, who accused the Labour Party governor of failing to execute meaningful projects since assuming office. According to the senator, the current administration has focused largely on repainting and refurbishing roads constructed during his tenure rather than initiating new infrastructure.
Ogala weighed in on the matter via Instagram, openly aligning herself with Kalu, whom she described as her boss. She insisted that his claims were factual and should not be dismissed as political attacks.

“What my boss, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, said about Governor Alex Otti is true,” the actress wrote. “Alex Otti is only repainting roads that were originally constructed by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.”
She further argued that many of the roads being showcased by the present Abia State government were projects completed during Kalu’s time as governor, adding that historical records support his position.
Her comments immediately triggered intense reactions across social media platforms. Supporters applauded her for speaking out and defending Kalu’s legacy, while critics accused her of downplaying the efforts of the Otti administration and injecting celebrity influence into a sensitive political debate.
As the exchange continues to trend online, the clash has once again brought Abia State’s development record into the spotlight, highlighting the growing political tension between past and present leadership in the state.
