The Taraba State governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has called on his supporters to distance themselves from indulging in destruction or defacing opposition political parties’ billboards or posters.

The guber candidate of the party, Danladi Baido Tijos, made the call yesterday in Jalingo at the inauguration of the party’s governorship campaign council.

The candidate who vowed not to spare any member of the party caught in such acts said he will not hesitate to allow the law of the land to take its cause.

Rather than toiling the paths of supporters of other political parties who derive joy in pulling down billboards belonging to opposition candidates, he advised his supporters to indulge in house to house campaigns.

Baido, who is the incumbent member representing Ardo-Kola, Lau and Karim-Lamido federal constituency also cautioned his supporters spread across the state to eschew acts capable of frustrating the forthcoming general elections.

He also decried the deplorable condition of governance in the state, promising that SDP in Taraba, is poised to change the narrative come 2023.

Optimistic of his party forming the next government in Taraba, he admonished the party faithful to be conscious of the Electoral act which, according to him, only allowed for “one man, one vote”.

Overwhelmed by the decision of the party to appoint them as members of the campaign council, the Director General of the council, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Akawo, restated the commitment of the council to work tirelessly round the clock to ensure victory for the party in the polls.
