The former world number 1 Novak Djokovic has been handed the opportunity to defend his French Open title after the French government lifted the Covid-19 vaccine pass effect from March 14.
Djokovic, who has refused to be administered the Covid-19 vaccine, was denied entry into Australia to compete in the Australian Open tournament.
However, with this development in France, the Serb will be looking to redeem his status in tennis after he was defeated in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Duty Free Championship by 123rd ranked Jiri Vesely.

Djokovic, a 20-Grand Slam winner, is expected to be in France after March 14 when the government’s recent announcement on the Covid-19 pass regulations takes effect.
The French Open Championship to be hosted at Roland-Garros from May 22 to June 5 will be an avenue for Djokovic to equal the 21 Grand Slams’ record of Rafael Nadal.
