Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is once again seeking a mistrial in his ongoing legal battle, this time accusing prosecutors of knowingly introducing false testimony regarding a shocking incident involving fashion designer Bryana Bongolan.

In a letter submitted to the court on Saturday morning, Diddy’s legal team argued that prosecutors allowed Cassie Ventura; a central witness and Diddy’s former partner, to testify about an event she never actually witnessed. The testimony in question described an alleged moment when Diddy held Bongolan over the edge of a 17-story balcony during an altercation.

According to the defense, Cassie told the court that she saw the disturbing scene firsthand. But text messages from Cassie to Kristina Khorram, Diddy’s longtime employee and chief of staff, paint a different picture. In one message, Cassie reportedly wrote, “I just found out some crazy s***,” indicating she learned about the event secondhand, directly contradicting her courtroom claims.

The controversy deepens with the presentation of photographs that prosecutors said show injuries Bryana sustained during the incident. Bongolan testified that Diddy yanked her back from the balcony ledge and threw her into furniture, causing bruises to her leg and injuries to her neck. But Diddy’s team says the photos, which include metadata timestamps, were taken on September 26, 2016-a date when Diddy was allegedly on the East Coast, far from where the incident was said to have occurred.

Adding to the confusion, prosecutors later suggested the event may have taken place on September 29 or 30 instead. This shift in timeline has fueled Diddy’s assertion that the state is manipulating evidence and misleading the jury.

This marks the second time Diddy has requested a mistrial in recent weeks. In a separate matter, his attorneys previously argued that destroyed fingerprint evidence on a Molotov cocktail bottle, allegedly used to damage rapper Kid Cudi’s car-could bias jurors. That earlier mistrial request was denied by the judge.

As of now, the judge has not ruled on Diddy’s latest motion, but a decision could come at any time. The courtroom drama surrounding one of the music industry’s most influential figures is far from over, and the next ruling could shift the direction of this high-stakes case.
