The Delta State Government and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) have extended heartfelt condolences to the families of fallen soldiers as the nation commemorates Armed Forces Remembrance Day. This solemn occasion serves to honor the bravery, dedication, and ultimate sacrifices made by Nigeria’s military heroes in the pursuit of peace and unity.
In a statement, the Delta State Government saluted the courage and commitment of the nation’s fallen heroes, describing their sacrifices as a source of inspiration and pride. “We salute the sacrifices, dedication, and bravery of our fallen heroes who served our nation with honor and dignity. We recognize the ultimate price they paid to ensure a united and peaceful Nigeria, and their legacy remains a source of courage and pride for us all,” the statement read.

The government further emphasized the importance of upholding the values of unity and peace for which these heroes fought. “As a people, let us continue to uphold these enduring values of unity and peace that bind us together in our effort to build a stronger, more harmonious nation in honor of their memory and contributions,” it added.
Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director and CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission, also paid a moving tribute to the gallantry of Nigeria’s soldiers. “To our fallen heroes—our lost brothers and sisters in arms, gallant men and women who fought bravely until death—we celebrate your sacrifice and honor your courage,” he stated.
Dr. Ogbuku further called for reflection on the nobility of serving one’s country, saying, “As we honor our heroes, may we also remember that service to our country is noble.”
