Delta State has been confirmed as host of the 15th Biennial Police Games, BIPOGA 2026, scheduled to hold from February 7 to February 14, 2026, in Asaba, the state capital, marking another major national sporting event for the state.
The clearance followed the outcome of a two day strategic conference and facility inspection carried out by the Force Sports Planning Committee, led by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Force Sports, AIG Fom Pam Joseph. The exercise took place in Asaba between Friday and Saturday.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, and made available to journalists in Warri on Saturday, said the committee expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness so far and assured athletes, officials, and members of the public that arrangements for the games were on track.
According to the statement, the conference and inspection exercise were designed to fine tune operational plans, logistics, and coordination ahead of the opening of the games, with particular attention given to the readiness of sporting venues and support services.
Members of the committee were taken on an extensive tour of the facilities earmarked for the competition, where they assessed infrastructure, safety standards, logistics, and overall suitability for athletes and officials who will be arriving from police commands and formations across the country.

The conference drew the attendance of several senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force, including AIG Suleiman Abdul, CP Dantawaye Miller, CP Hassan Gwani, CP Osifo Emefiele, and the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, alongside other top officers and members of the Force Sports Planning Committee.
The statement noted that deliberations during the conference covered key areas such as venue readiness, security arrangements, accommodation, transportation, medical services, and general logistics, with emphasis on delivering a seamless and professionally coordinated sporting festival.
It added that the Force Sports Planning Committee reaffirmed its commitment to staging a safe, orderly, and successful Police Games in Delta State, assuring participants and the general public that preparations are progressing steadily ahead of BIPOGA 2026 in Asaba.
