The 2024 Delta State Christian pilgrims to Israel and Jordan will depart from the Port Harcourt International Airport on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

A total of 250 pilgrims, carefully selected from inter-denominational Christian organizations, will embark on the spiritual journey, jointly sponsored by the federal and Delta State governments.

The pilgrimage aims to foster spiritual revival and offer prayers for Nigeria’s security, prosperity, and overall well-being.

In a statement on Friday, the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Very Rev. Fr. Christopher Ekabo, confirmed that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has fully met all financial obligations to facilitate a smooth and fulfilling pilgrimage.

He assured that all necessary arrangements have been finalized for a memorable experience in the Holy Land.

Rev. Fr. Ekabo advised all pilgrims to ensure they have their valid international passports, relevant travel documents, and Yellow Cards, which can be obtained from the Port Services office at the Federal Secretariat, along Okpanam Road, Asaba.

Furthermore, he announced the appointment of Dr. Fred Oghenesivbe, Director General of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, as the head of media for the pilgrimage.

According to Ekabo, Oghenesivbe was selected due to his distinguished career as a media strategist and communications expert.

He will be supported by Mr. Harry Owoso of Delta Broadcasting Service, with Mr. Austin Azu of News Central Television also joining the team.

The media team will provide daily updates on Team Delta’s activities in Israel and Jordan through multiple communication channels, ensuring that Deltans and Nigerians can follow the journey and gain insights into the historical and spiritual significance of the pilgrimage.

Rev. Fr. Ekabo expressed gratitude to Gov. Oborevwori for his leadership and commitment to supporting Christian pilgrimages.
He also thanked President Bola Tinubu and the Delta State government for their financial support.

Gov. Oborevwori is expected to address the pilgrims in Asaba, before their departure for Port Harcourt International Airport.
