The Executive Director of Corporate Services at the South-South Development Commission (SSDC), Tonye Timi, has commended Sheriff Oborevwori for his approach to project conceptualisation and delivery, describing it as focused and results-driven.
Speaking in an interview, Timi said the governor has demonstrated clarity of vision and speed in executing projects across Delta State, noting that his administration has combined planning with decisive implementation.
He attributed part of the progress to the administration’s decision to engage Julius Berger for key infrastructure projects, adding that the move is already reflecting in visible development across the state.
Timi expressed optimism that residents would consider renewing the governor’s mandate in 2027, citing what he described as bold and practical leadership needed to reposition the state.

He criticised previous administrations for abandoning major projects, including the Oghareki power project, Warri Industrial Business Park, and key road infrastructure such as the Asaba-Ughelli and Warri-Agbor roads, noting that such delays had slowed development and wasted resources.
According to him, the Oborevwori administration has managed state finances more effectively than expected, despite concerns at the start of his tenure about debt exposure and economic instability.
Timi said the governor has recorded notable infrastructure growth within three years, easing earlier fears that the state’s economy might struggle under financial pressure.
He highlighted ongoing projects, including flyover bridges in Warri, Effurun, Ughelli, and Agbor, as well as investments in education and healthcare infrastructure such as the Southern Delta University campus at Orerokpe and the College of Health Technology in Ovrode.
He also pointed to the completion of the Trans-Warri Road, which he said has improved access between riverine and urban communities, boosting trade and economic activities.
Timi maintained that the governor has shown determination to pursue large-scale development, setting clear goals and executing them with consistency.
