Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, has charged the youths of Ndokwa Nation to remain law-abiding, united, and supportive of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration for a brighter and more prosperous future.

Speaking during the inauguration of the new leadership of Ikolobie Ndokwa, the apex youth organization in Ndokwa Nation, held in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Onyeme represented by Chief Godwin Mgbagbego, Executive Assistant on Political Matters, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to youth development through various empowerment initiatives coordinated by ministries and agencies.

He urged the newly elected youth leaders to leverage existing opportunities while preparing to benefit from more impactful programmes in the pipeline. According to the Deputy Governor, the administration remains focused on harnessing the potential of young people and building a peaceful, inclusive society.

While acknowledging the critical support of Ikolobie Ndokwa during the 2023 general elections, Onyeme emphasized the importance of continued unity and peaceful coexistence across all local government areas in Ndokwa Nation. He charged the new executive to uphold the core values of accountability, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to the collective good.

Addressing recent political speculations, Sir Onyeme clarified that the alignment of some Delta PDP stakeholders with the APC-led federal government is not about favoring former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, but rather a strategic move aimed at attracting federal presence and complementing the developmental strides of Governor Oborevwori’s administration.

Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, Member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ikolobie Ndokwa, commended the outgoing executive led by Chief Anslem Nzete and tasked the new leadership with surpassing past achievements. Ezechi, who has become a strong voice for the constituency in the National Assembly, vowed to resolve the longstanding issue of poor electricity supply in Ndokwa land through ongoing engagements with relevant authorities.

He praised Governor Oborevwori for his extensive infrastructure projects across Delta’s three senatorial districts and thanked former Governor Okowa for his continuous support of the youth body. Ezechi also moved a motion of vote of confidence on key political figures including Governor Oborevwori, Deputy Governor Onyeme, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Sir Fidelis Tilije, and Chief Festus Ochonogor, an endorsement that received thunderous approval from the crowd.

The ceremony was graced by high-profile figures such as Chief Fidelis Tilije, Hon. Charles Emetulu, Barr. Possible Ajede, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, Rear Admiral Mike Ojinika Onah, and Surveyor Azuka Enebeli, among others. Their goodwill messages echoed the necessity for collaboration between youth organizations and government to promote inclusive growth, equity, and sustainable development.

Outgoing Ikolobie President, Chief Anslem Nzete, reflected on his tenure with pride, highlighting milestones such as the role played in the emergence of Sir Onyeme as Deputy Governor, youth inclusion in political appointments, and fostering peace in Ndokwa communities.

In his acceptance speech, new President Comrade Fidelis Azaka pledged to uphold and expand the legacy of his predecessor. He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to peace, progress, and synergy with the Oborevwori-led administration to foster unity and development across the region.

The event also featured a compelling talk on “The Role of Youths in Nation Building” by Dr. Emmanuel Ndumdi Orji, an interactive session, and the formal swearing-in of a new 24-member executive team.

This landmark event not only marked a new chapter for Ndokwa youths but also signaled a renewed partnership between the government and the youth in building a stronger, united Delta State.
