Delta State Commissioner for Lands, Surveys, and Urban Development, Chief Emamusi Obiodeh on Tuesday, paid the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) fees for 100 secondary school students in Isoko South Local Government Area.
The project which is sponsored by the Emamusi Obiodeh Foundation will gulp N3. 5million.
Speaking during the presentation the N3.5million cheque in Oleh, the local headquarters on Tuesday, the commissioner who outlined the criteria for the selection of the 100 students from across secondary schools in the local government area, said the gesture is in line with the opportunities for all mantra of the state Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
Represented by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Obaro Ubara, the commissioner said that the selection of the 100 beneficiaries was based on merit, pointing out that there was no political consideration as to which political party their parents or guardians belong to.
“Governor Oborevwori’s more agenda is giving opportunities to all, irrespective of political affiliations, so there was no political consideration, but it was simply based on merit,” he said.
