The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has rejected recent claims made by a group led by Dr. Emma Ejiofor, who alleged that loyal party members were being sidelined amid recent political developments.
In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq, the party dismissed these allegations as false, malicious, and driven by personal interests, reaffirming its commitment to unity, fairness, and inclusivity for all members, regardless of when they joined the party.
The APC clarified that there is no distinction between ‘old’ and ‘new’ members within the party, adding that all members, irrespective of when they joined, are entitled to the same rights and opportunities.
The statement further noted that Dr. Ejiofor, who joined the APC from the PDP in 2020 without any barriers, should not now advocate for restrictions on new members, calling his position hypocritical.
The party also stressed that the recent move of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to the APC has only strengthened the party, positioning it as the dominant force in Delta politics. Under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, the APC remains united and committed to building a broad-based coalition that is both inclusive and strategically focused on electoral success and good governance.
The statement further rejected allegations that critical decisions affecting the state party were being made without proper consultation.
It emphasized that such decisions, including the governor’s move to the APC, were made in consultation with both the national and state leadership, making Dr. Ejiofor’s claims of unilateral imposition unfounded.

Dr. Ejiofor’s history of anti-party activities was also highlighted. The APC pointed to his open support for the PDP candidate during the 2021 local government elections and his efforts to undermine the party’s interests in the 2023 governorship race. As a result, the Aniocha South LGA Executive Committee recently declared Dr. Ejiofor persona non grata and barred him from attending any party meetings at the local government level.
The APC spokesman maintained that the APC remains firmly dedicated to maintaining internal cohesion and unity under the leadership of Governor Oborevwori.
The party reiterated that no individual or group would be allowed to destabilize its progress. All genuine members were urged to disregard Dr. Ejiofor’s divisive rhetoric and to continue working toward building a stronger and more inclusive APC in Delta State.
The party also extended congratulations to the newly elected National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and called on the national leadership to ignore Dr. Ejiofor’s attempts to divide the party, stressing that Delta APC remains focused on achieving its collective goals for the people of the state.
