Mrs. Edhekpo Uyouyou, a seasoned politician and former Vice Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, has formally declared her intention to contest for the Chairmanship position in the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Edhekpo, who previously served as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Mobilization and is currently the Special Adviser on MDGs to the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, made her declaration during a press briefing in Asaba, the state capital.
Speaking to journalists, Edhekpo outlined her mission to reposition the APC in Delta State and secure victory over the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general elections. She emphasized her commitment to working with stakeholders to achieve this goal, describing her candidacy as a call to service.

“I am determined to unite our great party and strategically position us for success in 2027. This is a task I cannot achieve alone; I will rely on the support and collaboration of every stakeholder to ensure we take over power from the PDP,” she stated.
Edhekpo lauded the reformative policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging the temporary challenges they have brought while expressing optimism about their long-term benefits. “The period of pain caused by these policies is almost over. Very soon, Nigerians will begin to experience the positive impacts of these transformative measures,” she noted.
She also extended her gratitude to her supporters for their encouragement and faith in her leadership, promising to live up to their expectations if elected.
Mrs. Edhekpo’s declaration adds momentum to the build-up to the Delta APC Congress, signaling a competitive and dynamic race as party members prepare to elect their new leaders.
