The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has congratulated newly elected Ward Executive Committee members across the state, describing the just-concluded ward congresses as peaceful, orderly and largely hitch-free.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Asaba, by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo (Esq.), the party said the congresses were successfully conducted in all 270 wards of the state, noting that the exercise was free of “rancour, acrimony, bitterness and violence” often associated with internal party processes.
This laudable outcome is a testament to the growing unity, maturity and shared commitment to the overall progress of our great party,” the statement added.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State, heartily congratulates all our newly elected Ward Executive Committee members, leaders, stakeholders and supporters across the 270 wards in the state for the peaceful, orderly, and hugely successful conduct of the ward congresses,” the party stated.
The party attributed the success of the congresses to a stakeholders’ meeting held on January 23, where party leaders unanimously adopted a consensus approach in line with the party’s constitution and guidelines.

“We wish to place on record that this success is largely the product of the stakeholders’ meeting held on the 23rd of January, where critical leaders of the party unanimously agreed on consensus arrangements as a means of fostering inclusivity, harmony, and collective ownership of the process,” the APC said, describing the decision as “wise, timely and in the best interest of our party.”
“Delta State APC also acknowledges the untiring efforts and leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, whose alignment with the All Progressives Congress has further strengthened unity within the party,” the party said, adding that the governor had demonstrated “uncommon commitment to cohesion and reconciliation.”
Oborevwori’s leadership has helped achieve “a remarkable 95 percent integration and fusion of the various interests within the Delta APC family in record time,” describing the peaceful outcome of the congresses as a vindication of the consensus-driven approach adopted by party leaders.
The party charged the newly elected ward executives to use the opportunity to build strong grassroots structures anchored on transparency, fairness and inclusivity.
It emphasized that ward structures remain the foundation of the party’s strength, urging the executives to promote reconciliation, discipline, accountability and effective grassroots engagement to guarantee future electoral success.
Commending members for their discipline and patience, the APC said it remains united and focused as it prepares for subsequent stages of its congresses.
“Delta State APC has once again demonstrated that it is united, focused and prepared to continue providing purposeful leadership for the people of Delta State,” the statement noted.
