The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has reaffirmed his commitment to bolstering security across Nigeria in 2025. During a visit to troops of Sector Seven, Operation Safe Haven, in Samaru, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Thursday, January 2, Gen. Musa outlined plans to address the nation’s security challenges and build on recent successes.
Reflecting on the hurdles faced by the military in 2024, Gen. Musa acknowledged the resilience and dedication of the armed forces. He expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their unwavering support and called for continued collaboration to combat the nation’s enemies.
“We want to thank Nigerians for their support and appeal to them to work with us as we strive to defeat those who threaten our land,” Gen. Musa said.
He extended appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for providing essential resources and a supportive environment for military operations, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to national security. Gen. Musa also commended the National Assembly for approving the 2025 budget, which includes significant funding for advanced military equipment to strengthen the country’s defenses.

“The president is proud of what we are doing, and Nigerians are counting on us to secure the nation. We cannot afford to fail. While we are on the right track, we must intensify our efforts to ensure the safety of every citizen this year,” he stated.
In his address to the troops, Gen. Musa urged the military to foster collaboration with other security agencies, uphold professionalism, and build trust with civilians to enhance the effectiveness of their operations.
Senator Sunday Marshall, representing Kaduna South, also praised the military’s efforts in maintaining relative peace in the region. He pledged his support to security forces, vowing to assist in initiatives that promote long-term stability and harmony in Kaduna and beyond.
