The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa has tasked Special Operations Forces to be dedicated to their responsibilities.
He gave the charge during the opening ceremony of the training for a new batch of Special Forces trainees in Kaduna.
This was communicated in a statement issued by the Director, Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau.
Gen. Musa encouraged the Special Forces trainees to commit fully to the training objectives, highlighting that the initiative is vital for investing in Nigeria’s security and stability.
The defence chief underscored the need for excellence, resilience, and adaptability in confronting emerging security challenges, marking the event as a pivotal moment in strengthening national security.

Gen. Musa emphasized the importance of equipping the armed forces to meet modern warfare demands and stressed the necessity of having well-trained personnel who can respond effectively to security crises.
He expressed optimism about the Special Operations Forces’ capability to tackle terrorism and insurgency, while also appreciating the Ministry of Defence for its support in making the training a success.
Around 800 soldiers from different arms of the military participated in the training.
In another development, Gen. Musa has visited the site of the newly established Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, where he pledged to improve security measures to ensure the institution is ready for its opening scheduled for September 2025.
