Singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called for the release of social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
Davido called for the release of VeryDarkMan on Sunday, through his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The singer said “outside all the noise, it’s good to see that the good one does actually impacts lives and people truly appreciate it!
“The support I’m witnessing for VDM everywhere is encouraging; it makes one want to do more for the masses. FREE MY GUY.”
VDM’s arrest occurred in Abuja, following allegations regarding unauthorized transactions from his mother’s account at Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank).
The circumstances surrounding his detention have raised questions about the legal processes involved and have sparked a larger conversation about accountability and the rights of individuals in similar situations.

“There shouldn’t be selective empathy.”
This highlights a broader concern regarding the treatment of individuals speaking out against authority.
Another user, @bighoty1, added: “EFCC and these politicians really need to focus on the right things! There’s real corruption happening that is affecting lives and so much more.
“They should prioritize important issues. Free VDM!”
This sentiment reflects frustrations with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s focus and priorities in addressing genuine corruption.
