Afrobeats sensation Davido has officially become a voting member of the Recording Academy, the organization responsible for the esteemed Grammy Awards, for the 2026 ceremony.
This significant achievement enables the Nigerian artist to participate in both the nomination process and the final voting for the Grammys.
The Recording Academy announced his membership in an Instagram video, celebrating Davido along with other new members.

Having received three Grammy nominations in 2024, Davido referred to this milestone as a “game-changer,” emphasizing that voting empowers artists to influence what is acknowledged each year.
His membership is part of the Academy’s ongoing initiative to broaden and diversify its membership, now including more voices from Africa and around the world.
Voting for the 2026 Grammy Awards will commence on October 3, 2025.
