In a major step toward regional energy integration, Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest oil refinery, has successfully completed its first-ever export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to Cameroon. The milestone, achieved in collaboration with Neptune Oil, marks a significant advance in fostering economic ties between Nigeria and Cameroon while addressing the region’s growing energy demands.
The Dangote Group, in a statement issued yesterday, described the export as a testament to the strategic partnership between the two companies. This development highlights their shared vision of driving economic growth and energy independence across the continent.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Group, celebrated the milestone as a transformative moment for Africa. “This first export of PMS to Cameroon is a tangible demonstration of our vision for a united and energy-independent Africa. With this development, we are laying the foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged within the continent for the benefit of our people,” he stated.

Antoine Ndzengue, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, also emphasized the importance of this partnership for Cameroon. “This collaboration with Dangote Refinery marks a turning point for our country. By becoming the first importer of petroleum products from this world-class refinery, we are bolstering our country’s energy security and supporting local economic development. This initial supply, executed without international intermediaries, reflects our commitment to serving our markets independently and efficiently,” he noted.
The partnership between Dangote Refinery and Neptune Oil is poised to go beyond this initial export. Both companies are actively working on initiatives to establish a stable supply chain that can help regulate fuel prices and unlock new economic opportunities across West and Central Africa.
For Nigeria, the success of this export highlights the capacity of Dangote Refinery to meet domestic energy needs while emerging as a dominant force in the regional energy market. For Cameroon, it signals access to high-quality, locally refined petroleum products, further enhancing the nation’s energy security and economic prospects.
