A young man, identified as Danladi, who was preparing to wed his heartthrob in December, had his life tragically cut short after being shot dead by suspected cultists, near the Esigie Police Division in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
Eyewitnesses report that Danladi, a well liked and easy going man, was seated in a friend’s shop on Enohuwa Street, off First East Circular Road, when armed men arrived in a GLK Mercedes Benz.
The gunmen approached Danladi, who was the son of the seriki Hausawa and fired two close-range shots at him, leaving him fatally wounded.

“Danladi’s death has left a deep void in his family and is a painful loss to his fiancée. He had already started distributing invitations for his wedding, set for December,” a witness said.
The Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident and extended condolences to the family.
He added that law- enforcement is actively working to curb cult-related violence in the state.
Yamu called on residents to support the police by providing information that can assist in fighting cultism and other related violent crimes.
