A peaceful funeral ceremony turned into a scene of horror in Okuni community, Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State, as a violent clash between two rival cult groups, the Klans and the Vikings, left one man dead in a brutal and shocking execution.
The victim, identified as Alobi Nsor, a known member of the Klans confraternity, was gunned down in broad daylight during a burial ceremony held to mourn the mother of a fellow cult member. What was meant to be a solemn occasion quickly descended into chaos when masked gunmen, believed to be members of the rival Vikings group, stormed the venue dressed in women’s skirts and gowns, catching everyone off guard.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers emerged silently and fired a single, fatal shot to Nsor’s head before vanishing into the surrounding bush, leaving behind a scene of terror and confusion.
