Cubana Chief Priest has taken to social media to respond to the backlash he received for not attending the wedding of his close friends, superstar musician Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Avril, in Miami.
His notable absence during both the lavish pre-wedding dinner, bachelorette and the grand wedding celebration led to a wave of online mockery and speculation about his friendship with the couple.
In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Cubana Chief Priest candidly revealed the challenges that prevented him from traveling to the event, citing complications with the embassy that hampered his travel plans.
He expressed his feelings by saying: “This morning, I woke up with mixed emotions. I’m happy for Davido and Chioma but also sad at the same time due to my absence. Sometimes life has a way of reminding us that we are not as in control as we believe we are.”

He went on to acknowledge the disappointment that his friends and fans might feel about his absence from such a monumental occasion in his best friend’s life.
“I appreciate the overwhelming support I’ve received during this tough time; it motivates me to support my friends better in the future.”
Cubana Chief Priest concluded his message with hope for the future, stating, “I am making plans to attempt to secure permission to travel to the U.S. next week because this situation is weighing heavily on my heart.
“Although I am not physically present to celebrate with them, please know that I am there in spirit, cheering for Davido and Chioma as they embark on this beautiful journey together. I wish them all the happiness in the world.”
