During the event, the state party chairman, Barrister Alphonsus Eba, warned any opposition member to desist from contesting against the governor during primaries or face sanction and removal from the party.

The governor, Prince Bassey Otu, in his response, appreciated the organisers of the event and the entire Cross Riverians for coming out in large numbers despite the heavy downpour for the rally to express their support for both the state government and the president of the federal republic.

He promised to do more with the people’s continued support to him and the president whom he described as a courageous man in tackling the economic situation in the country.

Otu, while assuring 96 percent votes for Tinubu at the general elections, charged Nigerians to bear the hardship with the president as he is fighting hard to change the situations with his support for the proposed Deep Sea Port in the state and other potentials.
