The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has elected a former House of Representatives member, Chris Etta as its state chairman.
The party also elected Ugana Lukpata as deputy chairman while Mr. Patrick Okon retained his position as wtate secretary
The candidates were affirmed by party stakeholders at the U.J. Esuene Sports Stadium, following a long meeting which took place at the State Library Complex, Calabar.
In his post election speech, Etta promised to do the bidding of the party, promising to carry everyone along and asking party stalwarts not to fail to visit his office to table their problems.

Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, urged the newly elected state working committed to work in tandem with the ideals of the APC.
The event drew thousands of party members from across the state’s 18 local government areas and it followed the recent completion of ward and local government congresses across the state.
Party officials described the process as a critical step to reposition the party’s structures at all levels expressing optimism that the leadership of Etta will foster greater unity and strategic positioning of the party in the state.
“We believe the new chairman will strengthen internal cohesion and reposition the APC for future political engagements in Cross River,” they remarked.
