The Cross River State Government has released the burial itinerary for the late Second Republic Senate President, Dr. Joseph Wayas.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Mr. Gill Nsa, the Governor Basset Otu, invited all citizens of Cross River State and residents of the state to pay their respects to the late senator as his body arrives Calabar, the state capital for onward movement to his country home in Obanliku for his final funeral
The itinerary shows that the body of the late Dr. Wayas will arrive at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar, at 2 pm, on November, 28, 2024.

From 6pm to 8pm on November 28, a night of songs and tributes will be held at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar, while on Nov.ember 29, at Obanliku his home town, a vigil night will hold at his compound, Sankwala at 7pm.
Interment is scheduled for Saturday, November 30 at his compound, Sankwala, Obanliku at: 10am.
The statement added that the late Senator Wayas, who was aged 80 is survived by his wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren and other family members.
“The Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, implores all to come out en masse to pay the last respect to our dear sage”, the statement added.
