The Federal High Court in Abuja has once again postponed the case of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), until October 16, 2025, over health challenges.
Kanu’s special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, informed reporters on Wednesday that the delay was due to the court’s request for the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) to provide a report on Kanu’s health to assess if he is still fit to stand trial.
“Once again, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case has been postponed to October 16, 2025.

“The reason is that the court wants the Nigerian Medical Association to submit a report on whether Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is still fit to stand trial,” Ejimakor stated.
Kanu’s appearance in court represents another chapter in a case that has garnered national and international attention since his re-arrest and rendition to Nigeria in June 2021.
