The Federal High Court in Abuja denied the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) bid to arraign former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello without his legal team present.
Bello was brought before Justice Emeka Nwite to face new charges from the EFCC. However, the court proceedings hit a snag when it was revealed that the defendant had no legal representation in the courtroom.

Justice Nwite, in a decisive ruling, postponed the arraignment to December 13, emphasizing the necessity of legal representation for the accused. The judge also ordered that Bello remain in the custody of the EFCC until his lawyers are properly notified and can appear in court.
This latest development adds another layer of intrigue to the case, which has already captured significant public attention. Observers are closely watching how the EFCC will handle the legal and procedural hurdles in its case against the former governor.
