The Delta State High Court sitting in Asaba has adjourned the trial of three men accused of murdering Miss Elozino Ogege, a 300-level Mass Communication student of Delta State University, Abraka, to October 8, 2025, for the adoption of final written addresses.
The adjournment followed the conclusion of the defence by all three defendants—Macaulay Desmond Oghenemaro, Nwosisi Benedict Uche, and Enaike Onoriode—who are facing charges of conspiracy and murder in connection with the death of Miss Ogege on November 15, 2018, in the university town of Abraka.
At the resumed hearing on June 25, 2025, the first defendant closed his case through his counsel, S.C. Okehielem Esq., after informing the court that a key witness could not be presented. The second defendant, led by his counsel, K.O. Ajayi Esq., then testified, denying involvement in the crime and claiming to have assisted the police in locating the third defendant.

The third defendant, Enaike Onoriode, represented by Michael Biosa Esq., also denied any wrongdoing, contradicting the second defendant’s testimony and accusing him of lying under oath.
With all testimonies completed, the presiding judge directed all defence counsel to file their written addresses and serve the prosecution within 21 days. The prosecution, led by Solicitor-General Omamuzo Erebe and Senior State Counsel F.J. Solomon, was granted an additional 21 days to respond upon receipt of the submissions.
Owing to the upcoming court vacation, the matter was adjourned to October 8, 2025, for the adoption of the written addresses, a critical step before the court delivers its final judgment in the high-profile case.
