A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the arraignment of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to April 23.
The case, instituted by the Department of State Services (DSS), accuses El-Rufai of unlawful interception of a telephone conversation following remarks he made during a television interview.
The court had earlier scheduled February 25 for his arraignment.
However, when the matter was called on Wednesday, the former governor was absent from court.
Counsel to the prosecution, Oluwole Aladedoyin, informed the court that El-Rufai is currently in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC).

In a related development, the DSS denied that El-Rufai was ever in its custody.
Following the submissions, the court adjourned the arraignment to April 23.
