Antonio Conte has allayed fears he will be leaving Tottenham despite qualifying the North London club for next season’s Champions League.
The Tottenham manager, who was reported to be on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain as a possible replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, met with the club’s director of football, Fabio Paratici, in Italy, to reaffirm his commitment to the club.
Conte joined Tottenham in November 2022 and guided the club to a fourth-place finish ahead of rival North Londoners Arsenal but has never hidden his dislike over certain actions of the club which he feels are wrong.
In February, after the club lost to Burnley, Conte, who guided Chelsea to a successive Premier League and FA Cup victories, complained over the depth of the squad he inherited.

The Italian pointed out that if the coach was the problem of Tottenham’s inconsistent performances, he was ready to quit the job. According to a report by Sky Italia, the 52-years-old Italian faulted the transfer strategy of the club in an interview but denied the allegation saying he was quoted out of context.
However, to build the squad and make them a more formidable contender ahead of next season’s Champion League final, Tottenham owners, ENIC, in midweek have released the sum of £150million to partake in the summer transfer deals.
The £150m released by ENIC has boosted the Lilywhites whose Champions League qualification is an added advantage to lure potential transfer targets to Tottenham Stadium. A British media recently reported that free agents in the summer such as Fraser Forster, Christian Eriksen and Ivan Perisic have all been linked, with the former’s deal seemingly close.
The report added that with Tottenham’s £150million investment from ENIC, there will also be some players the club will spend money on, with the likes of Alessandro Bastoni and Filip Kostic already heavily linked.
