A fresh political storm has erupted in the United States after Congresswoman Ilhan Omar called for the removal of President Donald Trump following a controversial social media post referencing Iran.

In a strongly worded reaction posted online, Omar described Trump’s statement as dangerous and unacceptable, urging immediate constitutional action.

“This is not ok. Invoke the 25th Amendment. Impeach. Remove. This unhinged lunatic must be removed from office,” she wrote.

The response came shortly after Trump published a message on his social media platform in which he appeared to issue a fiery warning tied to tensions involving Iran and the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

In the post, Trump declared that an upcoming Tuesday would mark a dramatic moment involving “Power Plant Day” and “Bridge Day” in Iran, coupled with a threat-laden message urging authorities to “open the Strait” or face severe consequences.

The statement, which included provocative language and religious references, quickly drew backlash from political figures and observers who warned it could escalate already fragile geopolitical tensions in the region.

Omar’s call to invoke the 25th Amendment, a constitutional provision that allows for the removal of a president deemed unfit to discharge the powers of the office, underscores the intensity of the reaction among critics.

The exchange has further deepened partisan divisions, with supporters dismissing the criticism as politically motivated, while opponents argue that such statements risk inflaming international conflict and undermining diplomatic stability.

As tensions surrounding U.S.-Middle East relations persist, the latest clash highlights the powerful role of social media in shaping political discourse and triggering global reactions.
