The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) has decried low participation of Anambra State residents in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR), since January 5, 2026.
In a statement on Monday in Enugu, the Chairman of CLO, Vincent Ezekwueme, and its Secretary, Chidi Mbah, noted only 4,423 persons registered in Anambra State nearly five weeks now.
The statement said that CLO also urged citizens to participate actively for “enthronement of overarching benevolent servant leader in 2027″.

The organization reiterated its earlier call for INEC to create additional wards/polling units in Anambra State, citing areas like Oba, Nsugbe, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Umunya, Umuchu, Umuoji etc., with no electoral units – risking disfranchisement of 800,000 citizens.
“CLO appeals to INEC Chairman, Prof. Jason Ampitan, and INEC REC, Dr. Elizabeth Agwu, to do the needful.
“We urge INEC, NOA, CSOs, religious, traditional and market leaders to mobilise citizens for active participation.
“It is noteworthy that docile followers precipitates docile leaders, hence the inevitable need for citizens to be alive to their responsibilities.
“When you think about politics, you think about the people,” it said.
