The General Overseer of the Healing Faith Church in Jalingo, Taraba State, Pastor Dan Usman, has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and steadfast in their faith, regardless of the country’s current challenges.
Speaking during a church service in commemoration of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) 60th anniversary, in Jalingo, Pastor Usman encouraged citizens to change their perspectives toward life and people, emphasizing the power of gratitude and hope.
“Never give up on your situation. Keep trusting God and have faith in Him,” he said.
“Thank God today for a better tomorrow. If you are with God, you are secure and safe, and your tomorrow will surely be better than yesterday.”
He noted that the new year had brought noticeable changes in the lives of many believers, stressing that progress is a sign of divine intervention.
“Yesterday and today are never the same because there has been a shift from where we were to where we are now,” he added.
“The only currency that keeps God blessing and protecting us is thanksgiving. If you want to succeed in life, the key is to always be thankful.”
Pastor Usman further urged Nigerians not to lose faith, stating that hope is essential for a positive mindset and spiritual growth.
“When your faith dies, you lose everything in life,” he warned.

“When you lose hope, everyone around you can become an enemy. But when you have hope, you will always think positively. Dreams only come true when you have hope and remain optimistic.”
He also advised Christians to remain prayerful and committed to studying the Word of God, describing these as the foundations of a victorious life.
“The day you stop studying the Word and praying, you lose the world,” he cautioned. “Have hope in God—don’t give up.”
After the service, the immediate past Deputy National President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Sadiq Moyoyo, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the association’s growth in Taraba State and across the country.
Also speaking, the Taraba State SWAN Chairman, Jude Gundale, urged members to remain steadfast and work collectively for the progress of the association both at the state and national levels.
