The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has intensified its fight against noise pollution, sealing multiple establishments across the state, including The Lord’s Chosen Church, Celestial Church, and several hotels and restaurants. This decisive move is part of the government’s broader strategy to enforce environmental regulations and safeguard public health.
Dr. Tunde Ajayi, the General Manager of LASEPA, announced on Monday that the agency had ramped up enforcement operations in areas such as Shomolu, Oniru Victoria Island, Jakande-Lekki, Badore Ajah, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Sangotedo, Ogombo, and Lekki Phase 1. The targeted locations included establishments like Zodiac Lounge, Pixel Park Studio, Sneakers Suites & Bar, Wimpy Hotel, SBL Hotels, Handsworth Hotel, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, West Syde Exclusive Hotel & Suites, and Kobis Restaurant, among others.
Dr. Ajayi emphasized the harmful impact of unchecked noise pollution on the community, stating that LASEPA is fully committed to creating a healthier environment for Lagos residents. He highlighted the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations, declaring, “Noise pollution disrupts the peace and well-being of our communities. Today’s enforcement action sends a clear message that defaulters will face strict sanctions.”

LASEPA’s actions underline its dedication to maintaining environmental standards and addressing violations that jeopardize public health. The agency called on businesses, religious organizations, and other establishments to adhere to environmental regulations to avoid penalties. Dr. Ajayi also reiterated the agency’s goal of fostering a safer and more sustainable Lagos for all residents.
As the state government continues to crack down on noise pollution and other environmental infractions, Lagosians are encouraged to report violators to help create a more serene and livable city.
