Cristiano Ronaldo’s eldest child has received an invitation to join the Portugal Under-15 team for the first time.
At just 14 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr is with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where his father signed with the club in December 2022.
His father, the legendary Christiano Ronaldo from Portugal, 40, shared a photo on social media featuring his son’s name on the national team’s roster, accompanied by the caption, “Proud of you, son.”
Ronaldo Jr has been selected for a youth competition in Croatia, taking place from May 13 to May 18, where Portugal will compete against Japan, Greece, and England.
Ronaldo Sr, a five-time Ballon d’Or recipient, remains an active member of the Portugal national team and holds the record for the most goals scored for his country with 136, a benchmark in men’s football.
The 40-year-old led Portugal to their inaugural major title at Euro 2016, although he had to endure watching much of the final from the bench after sustaining an injury in the 25th minute.
Ronaldo also guided his national team to victory in the Nations League in 2019.
In March, Ronaldo scored a goal but missed a penalty as Portugal triumphantly defeated Denmark, securing a place in the Nations League semi-finals.
The former Manchester United striker has four additional children – twins Eva and Mateo, aged 7, Alana Martina, also 7, and Bella, who is 3.
