The global football community is questioning whether Paris Saint-Germain’s manager, Luis Enrique, will face repercussions after he hit Chelsea forward João Pedro during the FIFA Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium.
Enrique was seen hitting Pedro after PSG’s 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the final on Sunday.
Tito Vilanova (@heli_chito) expressed on X, “he should be suspended by Ligue 1, UEFA, FIFA, and the United States for causing a disturbance in their country.”
Blarinwa Olajide (@iambolar) commented on X, “Joao Pedro on PSG: They’re sore losers. I went to defend my teammate. I was pushed and fell to the ground.'”

However, some suggested that Pedro exaggerated the incident and pretended to be struck by the coach.
Chelsea came into the match as the underdogs but achieved a convincing win with three impressive goals in the first half, scored by Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.
Following the match, Pedro had a confrontation with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Enrique got involved in the altercation on the field, appearing to strike Pedro, which caused him to fall.
One of Enrique’s assistants had to hold him back while Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca intervened to separate his players from the situation.
