The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) have officially reopened its online recruitment portal today, Monday, July 21, 2025, following a temporary suspension that triggered nationwide complaints.
In a press release issued late Sunday night, the board called on applicants who had successfully initiated their applications to log back in and complete the process immediately.
The board attributed the earlier disruption to a surge in traffic on the portal, which overwhelmed the system shortly after its initial launch on July 14. The technical issues forced CDCFIB to temporarily suspend the platform on July 17 to carry out urgent upgrades and performance enhancements.
The ongoing recruitment exercise spans four major paramilitary agencies in Nigeria: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Federal Fire Service. These agencies are central to national security and internal safety operations, attracting thousands of young Nigerians eager to serve.

The board also apologized for the earlier inconvenience and assured applicants that the upgraded portal now has improved capacity to handle high volumes of traffic without failure.
As the race for limited slots resumes, CDCFIB encourages all eligible and interested candidates who had previously begun their registration to promptly revisit the portal and complete their submissions before the new deadline.
