The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has opened applications for mid-level positions in the Federal Fire Service, issuing a tight deadline for eligible officers across government ministries, departments and agencies. The announcement, dated 25 November 2025 and signed by A M Jibril, Maj Gen (Rtd), lays out several vacancies within the service’s middle command structure.

The openings span the ranks of Deputy Controller of Fire at CONPASS 14, Assistant Controller of Fire at CONPASS 13, Chief Superintendent of Fire at CONPASS 12, Superintendent of Fire at CONPASS 11 and Deputy Superintendent of Fire at CONPASS 10. Interested candidates must forward their applications to the Board’s official email, accompanied by scanned documents in PDF format. Any attempt to submit multiple entries will result in disqualification. The Board stressed that the process carries no fees and will close on 15 December.

Only serving officers in federal, state or local government establishments qualify to apply. The requirements include height standards of 1.65 metres for men and 1.60 metres for women, verified medical fitness, local government certificates, confirmed appointment status, three years of APER or PMS records, authenticated service documentation, a clean security profile and medical certification from an approved facility. Applicants must also show that they are not under financial distress. Paramilitary personnel were expressly ruled out.
The Board directed qualified candidates to submit their applications through its official email, info@cdcfib.gov.ng, and warned that multiple entries would lead to automatic disqualification.

The recruitment window opens at a time when the Federal Fire Service continues to emphasise its importance in national emergency response. Earlier reports from the agency showed assets worth over three hundred billion naira saved and more than one hundred and sixty people rescued in the first quarter of the year, alongside improved response times in major cities.
