Commander of the 2nd Brigade Nigerian Army, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State, Brig. Gen. Jafaar Ibrahim says that the army’s anti-bunkering operations in the Niger Delta region have been a huge success.

Speaking to reporters in Uyo on Monday, Brig. Gen. Ibrahim said that there has been a significant decline in pipeline damage and oil theft.

He said that the Niger Delta’s oil production has significantly increased as a result of the army’s actions.

“This is a good omen to the national economic recovery efforts of the federal government. Our operations have also reduced security threats, and rekindled confidence among Akwa Ibom residents,” he said.

Brig. Gen. Ibrahim reiterated the brigade’s commitment to collaborating with other security services to maintain peace and order in the state.
