The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released a list of prohibited items for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, as part of measures to ensure safety and order at all match venues in Morocco.
AFCON 2025 is scheduled to kick off on December 21, with thousands of fans expected to troop into stadiums across the host country.
According to matchday safety guidelines published on CAF’s official website on Monday, spectators will undergo mandatory security screening before being granted access to stadiums. Fans have also been advised to leave restricted items at home to guarantee a smooth and secure tournament experience.
CAF said the restrictions are in line with international safety standards and are aimed at protecting players, officials, and supporters throughout the competition.
Items prohibited inside AFCON 2025 stadiums include:
Alcoholic beverages
Illegal substances and drugs
Weapons and sharp objects
Fireworks and pyrotechnics
Glass bottles or containers
Flammable materials
Racist, violent or discriminatory banners
Unauthorised political, religious or commercial materials
Drones and animals

Professional cameras and recording equipment
Musical instruments and loud horns
Radio-emitting devices, except mobile phones
Heavy or oversized bags
CAF urged fans to cooperate fully with security personnel and adhere strictly to stadium regulations, warning that possession of prohibited items could lead to denial of entry or removal from match venues.
The football body added that the guidelines are designed to promote a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants during Africa’s flagship football tournament.
