Three African nations are set to apply for associate membership in the International Cricket Council (ICC) later this year.
Burkina Faso, Mauritius, and Burundi plan to submit their applications to the ICC’s membership committee before the December deadline.
According to reports, these countries had hoped to be reviewed by the governing body during this year’s ICC annual general meeting.

However, they were unable to advance their applications due to various administrative issues raised by the ICC.
During the annual general meeting held last weekend in Singapore, the ICC expanded its membership to 110, following the admission of Zambia and Timor-Leste as associate members.
Zambia had been expelled by the ICC in 2021 due to governance issues, but has now been reinstated.
