The burial arrangements for the late Mrs. Akpotu Eniwejo Sophy, mother of Professor Chris Akpotu, President General of the Isoko Development Union (IDU), have been officially announced.
A statement signed by Professor Chris Akpotu on behalf of the family and Pastor Aki Elisha for the extended family outlines the following schedule:
-Thursday, November 21, 2024:
A Service of Songs will be held at the Akpotu Compound, Etevie Street, Ofagbe, at 4 PM.
– Saturday, November 23, 2024:
– The body will leave Ozoro General Hospital Mortuary at 8 AM, proceeding to her father’s compound on Orogun Street, Ofagbe, and then to her husband’s compound for a brief stopover.
– A Funeral Service will take place at 10 AM at St. John’s Anglican Church, Ofagbe, followed by interment at 12 noon.
– Entertainment of guests will commence at 12:30 PM at the Ofagbe Technical College Field, Ofagbe.

– Sunday, November 24, 2024:
An Outing/Thanksgiving Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, Ofagbe, starting at 9 AM.
The late Mrs. Akpotu, fondly remembered as a devout Christian and a respected community leader, passed away at the age of 80. Her life was marked by dedication to her faith and community.
She is survived by her children and numerous relatives, including her first son, Professor Chris Akpotu, who also serves as a lecturer at Niger Delta University, Bayelsa State.
The Akpotu family invites friends, relatives, and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the life and legacy of their matriarch.
