The Directorate of Research, Innovation, and Partnership (DRIP) of Bayero University Kano has marked 10 years of impact in the university.
Speaking during the Anniversary celebration merged alongside the commemoration of the World Intellectual Property Day and the World Day for Safety and Health at Work at the university, BUK’s Vice chancellor, Prof. Sagir Abbas, said the directorate was established to drive the University’s research agenda, making it a credible hub of high-impact research and innovation.
“DRIP was set up to define research focus areas, support research activities, foster partnerships, manage research funding, and protect intellectual property.
“The early days were not without challenges. Without a dedicated office space, with a skeletal staff structure and limited resources, the foundation was laid with sheer determination and focus.
