The Buhari family has expressed their appreciation to the Nigerians for their support during the recent burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The elder in the family, Malam Mamman Daura, thanked everyone for their kindness and solidarity during this difficult time.
He emphasized how the participation of Nigerians from all walks of life helped ease their grief.
Daura acknowledged the comforting presence of President Bola Tinubu and his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, noting their support during the mourning period.
He also praised members of the government, past and current state governors, and leaders from various communities and religions for standing by the family.
He mentioned that the involvement of the President and Vice President Kashim Shettima, who traveled to the UK and spent time in Daura during the mourning, provided additional support and strength to the family.
Daura expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gestures from the President, including declaring a public holiday and renaming the University of Maiduguri after Buhari.

He also thanked international leaders, including King Charles III of England, the United Nations secretary general, and the heads of various African organizations, for their condolences.
Though they consider Buhari’s passing an irreplaceable loss, Daura noted that the outpouring of support from the community has been a source of comfort.
He highlighted the contributions of numerous leaders, including former Vice Presidents and members of the National Assembly, who reached out to the family.
Daura extended his appreciation to traditional leaders across Nigeria, who came to offer their respects, as well as business figures like Alhaji Aliko Dangote and others for their visits during this time.
The family expressed their heartfelt thanks to all citizens of Nigeria and those from other countries who sent their condolences, prayers, and messages of support.
They felt the collective response from the nation helped them cope with their loss.
Daura asked for continued prayers as they navigate this challenging period and wished blessings upon everyone who supported them.
