Brighton and Hove Albion Women have revealed their squad numbers for the 2025–26 season on their official website, announcing that Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie will wear the No. 1 jersey for the upcoming Women’s Super League match against Aston Villa on Sunday.
This jersey assignment strongly suggests that the 24-year-old, who joined the Seagulls on a free transfer from Paris FC in July, is set to be the first-choice goalkeeper.
Nnadozie comes to the South Coast with an impressive background, having previously participated in the World Cup, Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, UEFA Women’s Champions League, and the Olympic Games.
Her strong presence and reliability are anticipated to enhance Brighton’s defensive stability.

The former Rivers Angels player reported late for pre-season training after receiving an extended break due to her performance at this summer’s WAFCON, where she achieved four clean sheets.
Nigeria triumphed over Tunisia 3–0, Botswana 1–0, and drew 0–0 with Algeria in the group stage before defeating Zambia 5–0 in the quarter-finals on their way to winning the championship.
If she makes her debut against Aston Villa, Nnadozie will join her Super Falcons teammates Asisat Oshoala and Toni Payne, who have both played in England’s Women’s Super League.
Her outstanding performances have also gained international recognition, as she has been shortlisted as one of five candidates for the Women’s Yachine Trophy, awarded to the best goalkeeper in the world.
