Brentford has officially announced the permanent acquisition of Michael Kayode, a Nigerian right-back born in Italy, from Fiorentina, securing him on a five-year deal that includes an option for an additional year.
The 20-year-old player originally came to the Premier League team on loan in January 2025 and has since dedicated himself to the Bees for the long haul after impressing during his brief stint.
Kayode made his first appearance for Brentford as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur and quickly became an integral part of Thomas Frank’s team.
He got his initial start in the exhilarating 4-2 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion and maintained the right-back position for the last six matches of the campaign.

The Italy U-21 international made a significant contribution to Yoane Wissa’s equalizer against Arsenal by delivering a back-post cross to Nathan Collins, who directed it down into the net.
He also achieved his first assist in the dramatic 4-3 victory against Manchester United by laying the ball off to Wissa for the team’s second goal.
His long throw-ins have introduced a fresh threat to Brentford’s offensive play.
