Crystal Palace is set to welcome Brennan Johnson into their squad for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Newcastle, following the Welsh forward’s completion of a club-record £35 million transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 24-year-old is expected to feature in the lineup once Palace officially announces the deal, which marks the highest transfer fee in the club’s history, surpassing the £27 million spent on Liverpool striker Christian Benteke in 2016.
Johnson had previously attracted interest from Bournemouth, who were exploring options to replace Manchester City-linked Antoine Semenyo. However, after discussions with Palace manager Oliver Glasner on Thursday, the forward opted for Selhurst Park.

Having joined Spurs from Nottingham Forest for £47.5 million in 2023, Johnson played a pivotal role in Tottenham’s Europa League triumph last season, scoring the decisive goal that ended the club’s 17-year trophy drought.
With the transfer now completed, all eyes will be on Palace as they integrate Johnson into their squad ahead of their Premier League encounter with Newcastle.
