There are strong indication that the member representing Edo South Senatorial District under the platform of the Labour Party (LP), Senator Neda Imasuen, may soon defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as members of the APC mount pressure on him.
The LP in Edo State and at the national level have been engulfed in an intractable leadership crisis and polarized into factions.
The senator on several occasions had evaded questions on his continuous membership of the LP owing to the crisis rocking the party.
Sen. Imasuen is often seen in public functions alongside notable leaders of the APC in Edo State.
He is said to enjoy cordial relations with members of the ruling party in the state. The rumour over his likely defection has sent tongues in political circles wagging.
Giving credence to the speculation and his imminent defection, the Special Adviser to Governor Monday Okpebholo on Political Mobilization and Engagement, Eugene Utubor, Tuesday night visited the Edo politician in a bid to mount pressure on him to join Gov. Okpebholo in his developmental agenda.
