The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has expelled Nyesom Wike, factional National Secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade, Ayo Fayose, Austin Nwachukwu, and others.
They were expelled during the party’s ongoing National Convention taking place in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Trumpet gathered that the decision is said to be a landmark move to restore unity, discipline, and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Chief Olabode George, former National Vice Chairman of the party (South) moved the motion for the expulsion at the ongoing convention in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

The motion was seconded by Samaila Burga, Chairman of the PDP in Bauchi State.
The decision was promptly ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates.
It could be recalled that Wike-backed faction of the party made efforts to stop the convention but it went ahead.
At least four governors are among those attending the convention.
